His career at this international strategy consulting firm spanned its early years through its growth to a 350-person international organization, and he helped grow a substantial U.S. West Coast practice, as well as establishing successful practices in telecommunications, media, entertainment, and internet strategy.

Francis was Senior Vice President, Business Strategy, for Opnext, Inc., a fiber optic components company spun out from Hitachi in 2001. Before Opnext, Francis was president of Event411.com, Inc., with operating responsibility for most aspects of this 85-person internet software company which provided web-based software for meeting and event planning.

Francis received his Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy, politics, and economics, summa cum laude, and his BPhil (between a Master’s and a PhD) in moral and political philosophy, both from Oxford University. His Master of Science degree in management is from the Sloan School of Management, Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
