Renata is the Program Director of C/HOPE Community and she is responsible for the management and development of our program serving opportunity youth in the community. Along with her team, she works to ensure students have access to resources to succeed on their educational and/or vocational path. She works closely with community partners to provide services to the youth we serve.
Renata has a master’s degree in Public Policy with a concentration on Social Work from UCLA. She was the founder and coordinator of the Student Committee at the Consulate of Mexico in Los Angeles where she connected Mexican students to scholarships and resources. Renata also taught Spanish at UCLA for a year and volunteered at the Coalition for Engaged Education while she was in graduate school. At UCLA, she specialized in gender, crime and drug policy and violence and has published three articles on gender in a magazine in Mexico.
Prior to entering the nonprofit sector, Renata graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a minor in Economic Development. She worked as a senior economist at the Central Bank of Mexico where she was responsible for analyzing Federal Bonds held by foreign investors in Mexico as well as determining the market share of domestic Federal Bond holders.
