WE CHAMPION HANDS-ON, EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING, COLLABORATION AND INDIVIDUAL SELF EXPRESSION
Engaged Education champions hands-on, experiential learning and offers opportunities for both collaboration and individual self-expression. We convey the transformative power of Engaged Education by having people experience it for themselves.
To that end, we host events in our home at the Herb Alpert Educational Village that highlight Engaged Education and create authentic advocates for what we do. In this space, youth learn the empowerment that comes from storytelling; Los Angeles County probation officers, experienced for themselves the curricula we provide to incarcerated youth in our C/HOPE program; and our nonprofit partners receive professional development that helps them serve our shared clientele better.
Our goal is to influence the education system and probation system to value student expression; we are committed to engaging the whole student. We collaborate with the best nonprofits partners to make a collective impact.
Our long-term goal is to create programs that are models for communities across the nation and examples of the power of partnering with exceptional organizations.
Our vision is an educational system that values student expression and passion, with educators who are committed to engaging the whole student and co-creating meaningful, self-sustaining lives.
